Duke of York Restaurant Wins LABC Award


The 2019 LABC awards see’s the Duke Of York Restaurant Highly Commended in the Best Small Commercial Project category. The project for The Cadogan Estate, situated in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, has delivered an innovative and distinct center piece to the Duke of York Square. The project was designed by Nex Architecture in response to an architectural competition, with structural input by AKTII and services design by EM Tecnica.  The QS role was undertaken by ttpp. Capital and Provincial were project manager for the scheme to demolish the existing Gelato store and replace it with the new Restaurant.  The building which extends over the ground floor and basement has three 9m curved glass windows at ground floor which retract into the ground to give diners a flexible alfresco dining experience.

The LABC London Building Excellence Awards took place at the Guildhall Great Hall on Friday 10 May 2019. The historic venue was buzzing with over 400 guests attending from across the industry.
